Not everyone has the time available to them to attend protests, demonstrations, and other animal rights related events. But you can still make a huge impact on the minds of people around you by doing a few simple things. And the best part is that there is very little cost to even the most expensive of these methods and they will require little or no effort for a big payoff for animals and awareness about the plight animals face.
1. Put a Vegan Bumper Sticker on Your Car
This is such an easy way to promote veganism and animal rights. Your only effort required is removing a sticker backing and applying it to your vehicle. And there are all sorts of bumper stickers. Some are as gentle as simply saying 'VEGAN' or if you are comfortable with a little more, my favorite is the bumper sticker that I put on all four corners of my car stating 'It is not okay to eat animals' (click here to order one). I like this message because we are trying to reprogram the mindset of people and sell them the true message that animals are not ours to use. Most people are brainwashed to think that humans are superior and can use animals how they see fit. We must counter act that by getting our message in their face as often as possible! Having a bumper sticker allows you to sell the message to every car that pulls up behind you.
2. Write a Vegan Window Message on Your Back Windshield
Take a Sharpie Water Based Paint Marker or Crayola Window Crayons and write a vegan message on your back window of your car. The marker will wipe off, but will also hold up well in the rain if allowed to dry. And again, the message can be as simple as 'Go Vegan' or as complex as you'd like. People are a captive audience while driving. And they are looking for something to entertain themselves. Why not take advantage of this and sell them the vegan message? Even if you can just write something like 'Animals want to live', it will help people start to think more about their choices.
3. Wear a Vegan Button
I always have a button on my shirt, sweatshirt, coat, hat and on the harness of our pigs. Again, my favorite is the one that says 'It is not okay to eat animals' (click here to order one). When people are waiting behind me in the store at a checkout line, they can't help but read the back of my hat which proudly holds this button. And you can put buttons on your purse, backpack or really anywhere you can fit a button. People are curious. They want to see what you are promoting. And this will help normalize the message that animals matter.
4. Wear a Vegan Shirt
This probably seems like a no brainer. But, I can't stress enough how important it is that we take advantage of every chance we get to send a clear message that animals need our help. Even if you just convince one person to reconsider how they eat or the type of clothing they buy, your shirt will have made a major impact for the animals that won't have to suffer because of that person's choices. Do an internet search for vegan gear or visit our Vegan Shirt Shop and start spreading the message.
5. Tell People that You are Vegan
It is really that simple. The more people that are vegan, the more normal it seems. The more someone that isn't vegan meets someone that is vegan, the more likely they are to start asking themselves why they are meeting so many people making this change. Veganism isn't meant to be a trend, but it is fine if it gets a boost from people thinking that 'everyone is doing it.' So the more people that you expose to the fact that you are vegan, the more likely others are to try it. Peer pressure isn't always a bad thing. Especially, if it can help save the lives of billions of animals.
No matter what you do, do not be silent on the issue of animal suffering! The animals need us to speak out for them and hopefully these 5 tips will offer you some easy ways to help spread the message. We can change the world if we all work together!
